Manchester, N.H. (October 5) -- The Assumption College women's soccer team remained unbeaten through eight contests as the Greyhounds tied Southern New Hampshire University, 1-1, at Larkin Field on Saturday evening.

Four freshmen played key roles in the tie as newcomers Emily Hill (Dedham, Mass. / Dedham) and Tayla Morais (Taunton, Mass. / Taunton) paired up for the lone Greyhound score.

The Penmen struck first with a marker in the 26th minute as Gabby Cappello put SNHU ahead, 1-0. SNHU maintained that lead into halftime, but Hill leveled the score with her second goal of the season coming in the 59th minute. Morais had the helper on the goal, marking her first career assist.

Freshmen Jaclyn Tomasello (Halifax, Mass. / Silver Lake) and Kelsey Pietruska (Durham, Conn. / Mercy) helped limit the Penmen attack to the lone goal, while junior Rachel Edgin (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Whitesboro) made six saves in the game. Samantha Whittier made three saves for the Penmen.

The Greyhounds are now 4-0-4 overall and hold a 2-0-4 record in Northeast-10 Conference play while the Penmen move to 4-4-2 and are 1-3-2 in league play.

Assumption is back in action on October 8th as the Greyhounds will play host to Le Moyne College. The match will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Multi-Sport Stadium in Worcester, Mass.
