Box Score Worcester, Mass. (October 8) -- The Assumption College women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 overtime final to Le Moyne College, the Greyhounds first loss of the season, at the Multi-Sport Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
The Dolphins jumped ahead with a first-half goal in the 18th minute as Kelly Ristoff recorded her second goal of the season. Le Moyne carried that lead until the 59th minute, when Paige Radomski (Kingston, Mass. / Silver Lake) leveled the score off an assist by freshman Jaclyn Tomasello (Halifax, Mass. / Silver Lake).
Tomasello fed the ball to the center to Radomski, who beat the Dolphin keeper to the upper left with a shot from about 15 yards out.
The Dolphins earned the victory with an overtime goal in the 96th minute as Lindsey Bakal gathered a loose ball near the net and put it past the Assumption keeper.
Junior Rachel Edgin (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Whitesboro) made a season-high 10 saves in the loss, while Kayla Werthmann made 12 saves to earn her second victory of the season.
The Greyhounds fall to 4-1-4 on the season with the loss and are now 2-1-4 in Northeast-10 Conference play while Le Moyne improves to 4-4-2 and sit at 2-3-2 in the league.
Assumption is back in action on Saturday, October 12th as the Greyhounds will play host to Stonehill College. The match will begin at 1 p.m. at the Multi-Sport Stadium in Worcester, Mass.
