THE BASICS:

-The Lead: Senior Paige Radomski (Kingston, Mass. / Silver Lake Regional) scored the first goal of the day to put the Assumption College women's soccer team up 1-0, but Dowling tallied two to take a final 2-1 victory in non-conference play Saturday. The Hounds return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Merrimack and have just four more matches before the end of the regular season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
-Assumption struck first in Saturday's match when Radomski scored just 12:37 into the first period. The senior shot from outside the box into the upper left corner for the early 1-0 advantage.
-Just over three minutes later, Dowling tied it up when Taylor Davide notched her fourth goal of the season on a shot into the middle of the net past junior keeper Emily Kuzma (East Haven, Conn. / East Haven).
-Dowling scored the gamewinner less than 10 minutes into the second period when Allie Merrill, assisted by Kim Spiciarich, scored her fourth goal of the season. Spiciarich took the pass and beat Kuzma in a one-on-one situation for the 2-1 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
-Sophomore Amanda Arnold (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy) led the Hounds with five shots on the day while Radomski posted three, two on goal.
-Just two other Hounds notched shots on the day including freshman Jessica FitzGerald (Uxbridge, Mass. / Uxbridge) and senior Caroline Arnold (Foxboro, Mass. / Bishop Feehan).
-The two teams each tallied 10 shots on the day. Assumption held a 7-5 lead headed into the half and Dowling took a 5-3 advantage in the second.
-The Hounds finished the day with a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
-In goal, Kuzma and Dowling's Kariah Valva each registered four saves.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:
-Radomski's goal marks her ninth of the season and she ranks second in the NE-10 in goals. The senior also ranks first in points (27) and shots (85). Prior to Saturday's game, Radomski also ranked nationally in total assists (3rd, 9), and in assists per game (4th, 0.75).

-The Hounds return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Merrimack at 7 p.m. Assumption has just four matches left in the regular season.
