-The Lead: Sophomore Amanda Arnold (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy) scored twice in Assumption's impressive 6-1 win on Saturday afternoon in front of a home crowd at the Assumption Multi-Sport Stadium. Arnold was one of five Hounds to score in the victory that improves Assumption's record to 7-5 in the NE-10.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
-Arnold kicked off the scoring just 23 seconds into the contest. The sophomore flew past the Le Moyne defense and went one-on-one with Dolphin keeper Tori Corsaro. She found the bottom left corner of the net for the early 1-0 advantage.
-Just two minutes later, the Hounds increased the lead on a rebounded shot by junior Nikki Callini (West Springfield, Mass. / West Springfield). The defender shot once but it was returned by Corsaro. Callini lined up again and sent it past the goalie's head to increase the lead to 2-0.
-Le Moyne responded with its only goal of the day in the fifth minute. Rachel Terry got into the box and posted a point-blank shot that just got past Hound keeper Emily Kuzma (East Haven, Conn. / East Haven) to cut the deficit to one, 2-1.
-The Hounds proceeded to score four more, two in the remainder of the first half and two in the second for the eventual 6-1 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-Arnold tallied five shots on the day, three on goal, while Spina, Villemaire and junior Tayla Morais (Taunton, Mass. / Taunton) each totaled three.
-Callini led all players with nine shots on the day including an impressive seven on goal. She also registered an assist.
-In addition to Villemaire's goal, she also posted two assists on the day.

-Kuzma registered four saves in her 79:57 between the posts before she was relieved by freshman Rose Lipinski (East Bridgewater, Mass. / East Bridgewater Jr-Sr). Lipinski posted one of her own in just over 10 minutes of play.
-Le Moyne's Corsaro totaled 15 saves in 75:38 before she was relieved by Jessica Schafer who added one in her 14 minutes.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:

-Villemaire's goal marks her seventh of the season. The freshman now ranks third on the team in goals.
-Arnold's two goals move her into second on the team with eight goals. Saturday's game marks the third time this season she has scored multiple goals in one game.
-The five-goal victory marks the largest-margin win since the Hounds topped Saint Anselm by a score of 5-0 in the consolation game of the 2014 Catholic Cup on Sept. 6, 2014. That win sparked a seven-win streak.
