THE BASICS:

-The Lead: Sophomore Amanda Arnold (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy) and senior Paige Radomski (Kingston, Mass. / Silver Lake Regional) netted a pair of goals each in the Greyhounds' 5-3 victory over Franklin Pierce on Saturday afternoon at the Assumption Multi-Sport Stadium. The win marks the second straight for the Hounds as they improve to 4-3 in the NE-10.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-Franklin Pierce got on the board first in just the 10th minute of play when Saya Kato took a long shot from 25 yards to make it 1-0 Ravens.

-The Hounds responded with the equalizer under a minute later (11:12) when Arnold scored her third goal of the season off of a cross from Radomski.

-Assumption took the lead in the 31st minute when Radomski headed in a corner kick off the foot of freshman Ania Spina (Wallingford, Conn. / Mark T. Sheehan), 2-1 Hounds.

-With just 1:01 left in the half, Franklin Pierce's Nathalia da Silva was awarded a penalty kick that made its way past keeper Rose Lipinski (East Bridgewater, Mass. / East Bridgewater Junior-Senior) to tie it 2-2 at the half.

-The Hounds came out on fire in the second period, netting two consecutive goals to take a commanding 4-2 lead. Freshman Kallie Villemaire (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) notched her fifth goal of the season at 49:48 off a rebound and Radomski tallied her fifth goal of 2015 on a successful penalty kick of her own.

-Franklin Pierce reduced the deficit to one when FPU's Kato got her foot on a rebounded shot and found the back of the net in the 62nd minute, 4-3 Hounds.

-Assumption scored the final insurance goal in the 75th minute in similar fashion when Arnold netted a rebound for the 5-3 final.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-Assumption outshot Franklin Pierce 17-12 on the day including a commanding 12-3 in the second half.

-The Hounds also edged the Ravens in corner kick opportunities, 11-8.

-Radomski led Assumption with eight shots, seven on goal, while Arnold followed with four shots, two on goal.

-FPU's Da silva led the Ravens with five shots, all on goal, and one goal on the day.

-Franklin Pierce's Katie Weldon registered nine saves between the posts in her 90 minutes while Lipinski and junior Emily Kuzma (East Haven, Conn. / East Haven) tallied a combined five.

-Lipinski registered 69:05 in the net before being relieved by Kuzma with 20:55 left. Lipinski tallied four saves and allowed three goals while Kuzma posted one save.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:

-Radomski is now tied for second in the NE-10 with six goals on the season while Villemaire is tied for fifth with five.

-Radomski also leads the NE-10 with 17 points and 60 shots, and also ranks second in assists (7).

-Saturday's win puts the Hounds back on track, notching their second win in a row after suffering back-to-back shutouts at the hands of NE-10 opponents.

-Radomski is ranked in the top 10 in the nation in two categories. She is sixth in assists with six and eighth in assists per game (0.75).

UP NEXT:

-The Hounds are set to return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 6, as they travel to New Haven for their eighth consecutive NE-10 match up at 4 p.m. The game marks the first of five straight road contests.
