-The Lead: The Assumption College women's soccer team fell in its second-straight NE-10 contest this week on the road at Southern New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon by a score of 2-0. With the loss, the Hounds fall to 2-3 in NE-10 play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-The Hounds held the Penmen scoreless for 24 minutes, but SNHU took the lead at 24:35 on a goal by freshman Danielle Humphreys. Humphreys took a short pass from the right and fired from just inside the top of the 18 and scored for her first collegiate goal.

-At the end of the second period, senior Katie Bealka (Freetown, Mass. / Apponequet Regional) took a corner kick but the Hounds were called offsides shortly thereafter and the teams went into the locker room with SNHU holding a 1-0 advantage.

-Thirty minutes into the second half, the Penmen increased their lead to two when Alexa Poulin dribbled down the middle and fired from 20 yards out over the head of freshman goalkeeper Rose Lipinski (East Bridgewater, Mass. / East Bridgewater Junior-Senior). Lipinski got a hand on it, but it was ultimately too high for the stop and the Hounds went down 2-0.

BEHIND THE NUMBERS:

-Southern New Hampshire outshot the Hounds 17-13 including an 11-5 margin in the second half. The Penmen also posted nine shots on goal, compared to six for the Hounds.

-Junior Emily Kuzma (East Haven, Conn. / East Haven) registered 35:45 between the posts and accumulated two saves before Lipinski entered her first collegiate match. Lipinski collected four saves in 54:15 minutes and both goalies allowed one goal each.

-Senior Paige Radomski (Kingston, Mass. / Silver Lake Regional), sophomore Amanda Arnold (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy) and junior Nikki Callini (West Springfield, Mass. / West Springfield) each tallied four shots on the day to lead the Assumption offense.
