THE BASICS

The Lead: Assumption scored in the 60th minute to grab a 1-0 lead, but AIC responded five minutes later and the score remained 1-1 until the 104th minute, when the Yellow Jackets netted the game-winner to earn the conference victory at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Neither team could get the offense going in the first half, though the Yellow Jackets did own a 4-2 shot edge and each goalie was forced to make one save.

- Junior Amanda Arnold (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy) scored her eighth goal of the season and for the seventh time in eight games this year in the 60th minute as she finished a shot in front of the net following a corner kick.

- AIC netted the equalizer just five minutes later as Stephanie Tweer finished a shot off a cross to make it 1-1 at 64:25.

- Neither team could score the rest of regulation or the first overtime, though both teams had solid chances.

- Assumption nearly escaped with a victory, as Kallie Villemaire (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) forced goalie Madison Brown into a diving save on a shot to the lower left corner in the 102nd minute.

- Just two minutes later, Frederica Frew gave AIC the victory as she received the ball just outside the 18, make a quick move to her left and ripped a shot from the center of the 18 to the top corner of the net and past a diving Alexis Nason (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

- AIC held a 9-5 advantage in shots and have five corner kicks to just three for Assumption.

- Arnold has scored in all but one game this season and had eight total to give her 30 in her career.

- Nason took the loss in net as she made one save, while Brown stopped two shots to secure the victory.
