The Lead: Assumption fell behind 3-0 after the first period and was unable to come back, resulting in a 4-0 loss to Wesleyan on Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cardinal forward Cam McCusker scored two power play goals while James Kline added another to give Wesleyan a 3-0 lead heading into the second period.
- In the second period, Hound goaltender David Zulauf (Rochester, Mich./Bridgton Academy(Prep)) made 12 saves to shutout the Cardinal offense while Assumption was also unable to score.
- With 6:56 left in the third Cole Morrissette scored assisted by Matt Horton and Quincey Oujevolk to lead Wesleyan to the 4-0 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Wesleyan out shot Assumption 39-17 while going 2 for 7 on the power play.
- Cardinal goaltender George Blinick made 17 saves in the shutout win while Zulauf made 35 saves in the loss
