THE BASICS:

- The Lead: The Hounds trailed just 4-3 midway through the second quarter, but top ranked Le Moyne went on a 11-2 run over the next 30 minutes to come away with a 15-7 victory on Wednesday afternoon in conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Le Moyne scored the first three goals of the game, including two in less than two minutes for a 3-0 edge with eight minutes left in the period. Brett Jennings (Montgomery, N.Y. / Valley Central) got Assumption on the board with just 1:50 remaining and the team went into the second down 3-1.

- The Dolphins extended their lead to 4-1 just 36 seconds in the quarter. Travis Reid (Raynham, Mass. / Bridgewater Raynham) answered back just one minute later to cut the deficit to two goals. At 11:10, Dan Farrell (Norwood, Mass. / Norwood) trimmed it to 4-3 off a feed from Dan Matisoff (Milton, Mass. / Milton). However, Le Moyne finished the half with four straight goals for an 8-3 lead at the break.

- In the third, the Dolphins opened with a goal, before Jennings scored at 10:41 for a 9-4 deficit. He then dished off a feed to Farrell three minutes later to cut it to a four-goal margin. Le Moyne responded with six straight goals over the next 14 minutes to stretch its lead to 15-5. The Hounds did manage goals from Reid and Owen Peterson III (Westchester, N.Y. / Westlake) in the final minutes for the eight-goal final.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Assumption was outshot 38-21 in the contest but did win 14 of 25 face-offs. The Dolphins picked up seven more ground balls (26-19) while causing nine turnovers.

- Jennings and Farrell each recorded two goals and one assist while Reid scored twice. Tim Tierney (Framingham, Mass. / Framingham) had two ground balls and two caused turnovers while Connor Reid (Raynham, Mass. / Bridgewater Raynham)  won 14 face-offs and had five ground balls. Colby Hamwey (West Yarmouth, Mass. / Wilbraham & Monson) took the loss as he allowed 15 goals and made six saves.

- Justin Kesselring paced Le Moyne with 11 points on six goals and five assists while Devin Andrews had three goals and four assists. Kyle Lumpe earned the win in net as he gave up six goals and made seven saves.
