THE BASICS:

-The Lead: Alexis Stowell (Franklin, Mass. / Franklin) scored the game-winning goal for the Assumption Greyhounds, scoring at the 66:40 mark to lead the Hounds to a 2-1 win over the Bentley Falcons.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
-Tied at one, Stowell gained a loose ball about 30-yards out from the goal. She took a shot and rocketed the ball into the back of the net to put Assumption up for good, going up 2-1.
-The Falcons tied the game just one minute and 13 seconds before Stowell's goal when Stephanie Helin gathered a rebound off of a save by Assumption goalie Alexis Nason (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy). Helin fired on an open net to tie the game at one.
-Ania Spina (Wallingford, Conn. / Mark T. Sheehan) put the Hounds up 1-0 early on in the first half on a similar play. She gathered in a rebound and put it in the back of the net at the 2:52 mark.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
-Assumption held a 16-13 shot advantage, which included an 8-4 advantage in the first-half. Assumption also held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.
-Stowell scored her first goal of the year, but third of her collegiate career. She has one goal in three shots on net this season.
-Spina now has two goals and three assists on this season. In her last two games, Spina has two goals and one assist.
-Nason made eight saves throughout the contest and improved to 3-2-0 on the year. The Falcons' Renee Perkins made three saves and fell to 2-1-1 on the season.
