THE BASICS:

- Score: Assumption 27, Felician 4

- The Lead: Assumption took an early 2-0 lead before Felician came back and tied it up at two goals apiece. The Hounds led 9-4 at halftime and held the Golden Falcons scoreless in the second half to earn their first win of the season 27-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Hounds started the game with a goal by Owen Peterson III (Westchester, N.Y./Westlake High School) assisted by Nicholas Shanley (Milford, Conn./Notre Dame of West Haven) at the 9:36 mark of the first quarter. Under a minute later the Hounds struck again with a goal from Spencer Marocchini (Somers, Conn./Wilbraham & Monson) assisted again by Shanley. At the 6:03 mark, Felician answered with a goal of their own to make the score 2-1 and at 3:42 scored again to tie the game at two each heading into the final minutes of the first quarter. Assumption answered with two more goals before the period ended from Trevor Wilcox (Somers, Conn./East Catholic) and Anthony D'Angelo (Grafton, Mass./Grafton) to head into the second with a 4-2 lead.

- Assumption scored under two minutes into the second quarter when Brett Jennings (Montgomery, N.Y./Valley Central) connected with the back of the net off a pass from Jason Hughes (Watertown, Mass./Watertown). The Hounds scored two more times from Conor Quinlan (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) and Jennings with assists from Nolan Sheehan (Potomac, Md./The Heights) and Marocchini forcing Felician into a timeout. Hughes and Jennings connected for another goal a the 8:22 mark to give the Hounds an 8-2 lead. At 4:59, Wilcox sent a shot past the goalie off a pass from Peterson III to take their largest lead of the game (9-2). Felician answered under 30 seconds later and again at the one-minute mark to lessen Assumption's lead to five (9-4) heading into halftime.

- The Hounds scored in the first five minutes of the third quarter when D'Angelo bounced the ball into the back of the net off a pass from Peterson III. Assumption connected again 11 seconds later when Tyler Grant (Londonderry, N.H./Brewster Academy) slipped the ball past the goalkeeper on a breakaway from Shanley to give the Hounds a 12-4 lead. Assumption logged four more goals in the third to take a 16-4 lead with Adam Becker (Waltham, Mass./Waltham) recording two goals and Shanley earning two more assists.

- Assumption outscored the Golden Falcons 11-0 in the fourth quarter to take home their first win of the season 27-4. Sheehan earned two more goals in the fourth while Jennings recorded an assist and Colin Buck (Bow, N.H./Bow) earned a goal and an assist.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  The Hounds were led by Wilcox with three goals while Shanley recorded six assists and two goals. Hughes, Sheehan, Anthony Rausa (Littleton, Mass./Littleton), D'Angelo, Becker, and Quinlan all tallied two goals apiece.

- Jace Heibel (Albertville, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) earned the win for the Hounds with five saves while Pat Hemmer took the loss with 25 saves.

- Assumption earned 22 assists, 48 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers while Felician recorded two assists, 26 ground balls and three caused turnovers.
