WORCESTER, Mass. – The nationally-ranked Assumption University field hockey team was selected to participate in the 2023 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship, earning the fifth seed in the field of six and an NCAA First-Round game.
The Greyhounds will travel and take on Saint Anselm College at Grappone Stadium on Saturday, November 11, at 1:00 p.m. This is the fourth straight year that the Greyhounds will be a part of the field of six teams to compete for the NCAA Division II National Championship.
Assumption will look to exact their revenge against the Hawks, as Saint Anselm gave the Hounds their only blemish in Northeast-10 Conference action, as well as knocking off the top-seed Greyhounds in the NE10 Championship on Sunday.
The two teams will mark a rematch of last year's NCAA first-round matchup, where Assumption came out victorious 2-1 in overtime. The Assumption-Saint Anselm game should be close, as the last nine matchups have been one-goal games.
