Assumption Women's Basketball Hosting East Regional, Beginning Friday, March 10

WORCESTER, Mass. — The No. 19/20 Assumption University women's basketball team will return to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament for the first time since the 2016-17 season, as they will host the NCAA Division II East Regional in Laska Gymnasium.

Per NCAA Regulations, no parent passes or complimentary passes will be accepted.

More information about tickets will be released later in the week.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • This is the first time in program history that the women's basketball team will host an NCAA Division II Tournament Game.
  • The current Blue and White Squad has set a program record of 24 wins this season, surpassing the previous record of 22 wins, which was last done in 2012-13.
  • The Greyhounds rank in the top 25 nationally in scoring defense (2nd, 50.7), field goal percentage defense (2nd, 33.2), three-point defense (6th, 25.1), fouls per game (17th, 13.7), and winning percentage (22nd, 82.8).
  • Assumption is making their eighth appearance in the National Dance and are 3-8 in those games, making it to the second round three times (1999-00, 2007-08, and 2010-11).
  • Last NCAA Tournament win in 2011, as the Greyhounds defeated the College of Saint Rose, 74-64.

WHAT'S NEXT
The first three rounds will be held at home in Laska Gymnasium beginning Friday, March 10th. The second round will be on Saturday, March 11th, with the East Regional Championship, which will take place on Monday, March 13th.
