GARDEN CITY, N.Y.– The Assumption University women's soccer team scored early, but it would be Adelphi University that would come out on top 2-1 in the Northeast 10 Conference matchup, Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Lilina Shiers gave the Assumption Greyhounds the lead 19 seconds into the action on a goal set up by an
Elizabeth Schoeneberger pass. It was the fastest a goal has been scored by the Hounds all season. The lead lasted until 14:31 when Adelphi's Madison Apicella. It was the moment that turned the tide in the game. Adelphi continued to outshoot and out-possess the Blue and White for the remainder of the match.
The Assumption defense held together until nine minutes into the second half when Kayleigh Goodrich scored her NE10-leading 11
th goal of the season to make it 2-1 Panthers. They held on to secure the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Isabella Provost suffered her first loss of the year, despite making six saves.
- Adelphi outshot Assumption 25-10, while the Greyhounds had five of six corner kicks.
- Adelphi leads the all-time series 11-4-4.
