WORCESTER, Mass. – Four Assumption University football student-athletes received a few postseason regional honors, as the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced their Super Region teams on Thursday afternoon.

Jack Driscoll, Tindell Frick, Owen Fitzgerald, and Connor Smith were selected to the D2CCA All-Super Region 1 First Team Defense.

Driscoll was named as the Northeast 10 Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year, All-NE10 First Team, and was named to the All-New England Team by the New England Football Writers. He was the fourth Assumption student-athlete to be named the NE10 Offensive Lineman of the Year, as he helped the Greyhounds become one of the best rushing teams in the NE10, averaging 168.8 yards per game and scoring 20 touchdowns this season.

Frick was a force for Assumption, as he is the third Greyhound to win NE10 Defensive Lineman of the Year (Derrick Mann – 2013, Ray Sarkodieh – 2017), while also being named All-NE10 First Team and All-New England Team. He led the NE10 and ranked 8th in all of Division II in sacks (11.0), to go along with 65 tackles and 14.0 tackles for a loss.

Fitzgerald earned his second-straight All-NE10 First Team honor this season after recording career-highs in solo tackles (56), assisted tackles (71), total tackles (127), tackles for a loss (12.0 – 44 yards), and one fumble recovery, while adding 5.0 sacks for 29 yards. His 127 tackles this season rank sixth most by a Greyhound in program history.

Smith had a breakout junior campaign, as he had career-highs in receptions (49), yards (859), touchdowns (7), long reception (80 yards), and receptions per game (4.1), earning himself All-NE10 First Team honors. His seven touchdown receptions are the most by an Assumption wide receiver since Brevin Easton had seven in 2019, while his 859 yards are the most by a Hound since Ashton Grant had 874 in 2017.
