Lowell, Mass. -- The Assumption College baseball team lost two games at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell on Saturday, falling 8-2 in game 1 and 2-0 in game 2.
In game 1, senior second baseman Connor Burnham (Harwich, Mass./Harwich) had three RBI to lead the Riverhawks, while starting pitcher Garrett Cole (Bedford, N.H./Trinity) was solid, giving up only two runs in seven innings. Sophomore second baseman Shane Keddy (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Tech) went two-for-three with the Greyhounds.
In game 2, Assumption squandered a strong performance by sophomore starting pitcher Dan Bradley (Moodus, Conn./Nathan Hale Ray), who had five strikeouts, giving up just two runs over six innings. Sophomore pitcher Taylor Robinson (Haverhill, Mass./Haverhill) was dominant for UMass Lowell, pitching seven scoreless innings. Freshman rightfielder Dylan Flynn (Upton, Mass./Holy Name) went three-for-four with an RBI for the Riverhawks.
With the losses, the Hounds fall to 8-22 with a 4-10 record in the Northeast-10. They will look to rebound on Sunday as they host Saint Rose in a double-header.
