Women's Soccer Drops Match to Unbeaten Merrimack

North Andover, Mass. (September 28) – The women's soccer team fell to unbeaten Merrimack, 2-1, despite another strong showing from freshman goalie Rachel Edgin (Whitesboro, N.Y./Whitesboro). Edgin turned away six Merrimack shots as the Hounds fell to 2-6-1 overall and 0-6-1 in the Northeast-10. Merrimack improved to 9-0-0 overall and 7-0-0 in the conference.

Merrimack jumped out to a 2-0 by halftime on a breakaway goal by Katie Bresciani and a penalty kick by Jordan Schnopp.

Assumption cut the lead in half with a goal by Katie Lydon (Riverside, R.I./East Providence) in the 50th minute on a volley from the top of the box but the Hounds couldn't get any closer than that.

The Hounds hit the field next on Oct. 2nd when they travel to New Haven. The game will begin at 12:00 p.m.
