Box Score Easton, Mass. (April 24) -- The Assumption College women's lacrosse team lost to No. 7 ranked Stonehill College, 16-4, at Stonehill on Tuesday.
Assumption received goals from Danielle D'Amico (Johnston, R.I./LaSalle Academy), Michelle Santos (Holliston, Mass./Holliston), Camille Auger (Kennebunk, Maine/Kennebunk), and Amy McNeil (Orange, Conn./Amity). Auger and McNeil each also had an assist for two points.
The Greyhounds fell behind 8-0 before D'Amico recorded her ninth tally of the season to conclude scoring in the first half.
Down 14-1 in the second half, Santos scored her 18th goal of the season, and Auger notched her 20th goal of the year to cut the lead to 11. After another Stonehill goal, McNeil scored her 50th goal of the season, becoming one of four Greyhounds to cross that plateau. Her 54 points on the season rank her fifth in school history, two behind fourth place Jenna Goldstein, who scored 56 points in 2005 on 40 goals and 16 assists.
Michelle Monahan (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) made nine saves in the loss, while the Greyhounds fall to 5-9 overall and 4-7 in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Greyhounds will return to action on Thursday, April 26 against Mercy College. The game will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Multi-Sport Stadium.
