Liz Manganella (Sandwich, Mass. / Sandwich) dominated the left wing and helped equal the score when she received a ball from Katie Bealka (East Freetown, Mass. / Apponequet Regional), turned the outside back and played a beautiful left footed cross to an awaiting Bates, who headed into the back of the net.
Overtime went in favor of Assumption as the Greyhounds pressed high and strung together a series of passes that began with junior Rachel Edgin (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Whitesboro) and worked up to sophomore Paige Radomski (Kingston, Mass. / Silver Lake), who chipped a ball to Manganella. The junior forward delivered a cross to Bates, who made the extra pass to freshman Emily Hill (Dedham, Mass. / Dedham).
