Worcester, Mass. (October 26) -- The Assumption College women's soccer team earned its fifth tie of the season with a 0-0 double-overtime tie against Saint Anselm College at the Multi-Sport Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Greyhounds outshot the Hawks 22-9 overall and put nine shots on goal compared to five shots on target for Saint Anselm.

Senior Kelsey Imondi (Warwick, R.I. / Toll Gate) had a chance to put the Greyhounds ahead with a shot from the right side, but her attempt rattled the cross bar as the game went into the half scoreless. The Greyhounds outshot the Hawks by a 7-2 margin in the first half.

The Hawks had a chance to go ahead in the 57th minute with a free kick from 20 yards out, but the attempt went directly into the Greyhound wall to keep the game knotted at zero.

Sophomore Paige Radomski (Kingston, Mass. / Silver Lake) attempted to give the Greyhounds the lead in the 77th minute on a blast from 25 yards out, but the Hawks keeper stopped the attempt.

The Greyhounds controlled the overtime period with crisp passing and put the pressure on the Hawks defense, but could not put across the go-ahead goal en route to the tie.

Junior Rachel Edgin (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Whitesboro) made five saves while posting the shutout for Assumption.

Assumption is now 6-3-5 overall and is 4-3-5 in Northeast-10 Conference play while Saint Anselm is now 6-6-3 overall and 5-5-2 in league play.

The Greyhounds are back in action on October 30th as the team will play host to Southern Connecticut State University. The match will begin at 7 p.m. at the Multi-Sport Stadium. Prior to the game, the Greyhounds will recognize their senior class for their contributions to the program.
