West Chester, Pa. (September 14) -- The Assumption College volleyball team dropped a doubleheader with tournament host West Chester University and Shippensburg University on day two of Ramfest on Saturday.

Senior Ryan Merle (Skaneateles, N.Y. / Skaneateles) paced the Greyhounds with 10 kills and a .400 hitting percentage against West Chester as the Greyhounds lost by set scores of 25-23, 25-20, and 27-25.

Senior Lauren Ostafin (Avon, Conn. / Avon) led Assumption with eight kills in the loss to Shippensburg while Merle added seven kills for a 17-kill day. The set scores of the second match were 25-7, 25-20, and 25-20.

Senior setter Kristin Flatekval (Mahwah, N.J. / Immaculate Heart) had 51 assists in the two matches. The Greyhounds fall to 3-4 on the season with the two losses, while West Chester improves to 6-0 on the season and Shippensburg improves to 6-0 as well.

The Greyhounds are back in action on Tuesday, September 17th against Southern New Hampshire University. The match will begin at 7 p.m. in Manchester, N.H.
