Easton, Mass. (October 11) -- The Assumption College women's soccer team posted a 2-1 victory on the road at Stonehill on Saturday to improve to 7-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference (8-2 overall). Junior Paige Radomski (Kingston, Mass. / Silver Lake Regional) scored the game-winner, her fourth of the season, for the Hounds while freshman Amanda Arnold (Dayton, Maine / Thornton Academy) notched her ninth goal of the season in the win.

The Hounds got out to an early 1-0 lead just under six minutes into the match when Arnold forced a turnover in the box and beat Skyhawks' keeper Jamie Block to the back of the net. Arnold now leads the Hounds in goals with nine on the season. 

The Assumption defense held strong throughout the rest of the period, sending the squads to the locker rooms with the Hounds up by one.

Assumption kicked off the second half in similar fashion, notching an insurance goal just over three minutes into the start of the period off the foot of Radomski. The junior passed the ball to Arnold and worked her way toward the net where she accepted a pass back from Arnold to score.

Goalkeeper Rachel Edgin (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Whitesboro) looked to be headed toward her fifth shutout of the season until, at the 88:40 mark with just 1:20 left to play, the Skyhawks netted their lone goal of the match. Stonehill's Meagan Elliott beat Edgin to the ball, scoring past her, to decrease the deficit to one.

Edgin tallied one more save in the match, ensuring the Hounds' 2-1 victory. She posted a total of six saves in her 90 minutes between the posts compared to four from Block. 

Assumption out-shot the Skyhawks 16-12 overall, including 11-3 in the second half. The Hounds also dominated the corner kick scenario, tallying eight to Stonehill's one.

Arnold led the Hound offense with four shots, three on goal, while senior Kelsey Imondi (Warwick, R.I. / Toll Gate) also demonstrated a strong attack, tallying five shots, two on goal.

The Hounds are set to return to action on Wednesday as they host the #1 ranked team in the nation, Saint Rose, at 7 p.m. Fans that are unable to make it out to the Multi-Sport Stadium can watch the game live, for FREE, at AssumptionGreyhounds.tv!
