THE BASICS:

-The Lead: Led by two goals and an assist from sophomore Amanda Arnold (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy), the Assumption College women's soccer team shut out Saint Michael's in a road NE-10 contest by a score of 3-0 on Wednesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
-Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes of play on Wednesday, sending the teams into the break scoreless.
-The Hounds came out on fire in the second half with Arnold notching her first goal of the day just six minutes into the period (51:05). From the top of the box, the sophomore turned and shot the ball off the left post and in for the Hounds' 1-0 advantage.
-Arnold struck again just nine minutes later for the insurance goal when she took a pass from freshman Jessica FitzGerald (Uxbridge, Mass. / Uxbridge) from the right side and found the back of the net for a 2-0 lead.
-Assumption notched its third and final goal of the match in the 85th minute when Arnold fed a through ball into the center of the box to senior Paige Radomski (Kingston, Mass. / Silver Lake Regional). Radomski touched the ball just past the Purple Knights' rushing goalkeeper, Megan LeCours, for the 3-0 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
-Radomski led the Hounds by a substantial margin in shots on the day. The senior captain registered 10 shots, six on goal, and was followed by Arnold who notched four, three on goal.
-FitzGerald, freshman Ania Spina (Wallingford, Conn. / Mark T. Sheehan), senior Meg Campbell (Springfield, Mass. / Cathedral) and junior Kelsey Pietruska (Durham, Conn. / Mercy) each contributed to the Hound offense with one shot apiece on the day. Junior Nikki Callini (West Springfield, Mass. / West Springfield) registered two.
-Assumption outshot the Purple Knights 20-12 including a 15-3 margin in the second half.
-The Hounds accumulated just two corner kicks on the day, the least of any game so far this season.
-Junior Emily Kuzma (East Haven, Conn. / East Haven) tallied six saves in her 90 minutes between the posts while LeCours posted eight.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:
-Wednesday's contest marks the second time this season that Arnold has scored two goals in one game. Her last multi-goal game was on Oct. 3 against Franklin Pierce.
-Radomski's assist marks her ninth of the season. She ranks first in the NE-10 with her nine assists and also tops the conference leader board in points (25) and shots (82).
-Prior to Wednesday's match, Radomski ranked second in the nation with 0.82 assists per game and was tied for third in total assists.
