HOW IT HAPPENED:
-The Hounds took the lead in the 13th minute when sophomore Amanda Arnold (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy) dribbled up the right side past the 10 yard line and worked past a Skyhawk defender to cross the ball in front of the net. Arnold found senior Paige Radomski (Kingston, Mass. / Silver Lake Regional) on the other side who followed up with a quick kick into the left side of the net for the 1-0 advantage.
-The Hounds had several chances to increase the lead, including in the 30th minute when freshman Kallie Villemaire (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) played a smart ball up the middle past a Stonehill defender to find Arnold near the net. The pass was intercepted by a Skyhawk defender, however, and booted out of scoring range.
-Assumption went up by two with less than 12 minutes left in the second half. Radomski sent a pass past all defenders to Villemaire around the 40-yard line. Villemaire dribbled the remainder of the field, lined up and shot into the bottom right corner for the 2-0 lead.
-With 2:19 left in the half, Stonehill's Meagan Elliott had an opportunity to reduce the Skyhawk deficit to one on a penalty kick. She lined up and fired high, however, to allow the Hounds to remain up by two.
