THE BASICS:

- The Lead: Stonehill scored early in the first half, though the Hounds answered with a goal to draw even. The Skyhawks continued the scoring through in the final 45 minutes to win 3-1 in the first game of the Catholic Cup hosted at Saint Michael's College in Vermont.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Stonehill took the lead early in the first half when a free kick by Brianna Duserick led to a goal by Daniella Ganiaria. Hounds outshot the skyhawks 13-6 in the first half but were unable to score.
- In the 57th minute, Assumption's Amanda Arnold (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy) tied the game with an unassisted goal from 30 yards out.
- 10 minutes later the Skyhawks' Caroline Colbert scored on a cross from Lauren Kapatoes to make the game 2-1. Shortly after that, Lauren Kapatoes was able to sneak a shot over the goalkeeper's head off a cross from Brianna Duserick. In the second half the Hounds once again outshot the Skyhawks 6-3.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Arnold led the Assumption offense with five shots, three on goal.
- The Greyhounds goalkeeper Emily Kuzma (East Haven, Conn./ East Haven) tallied three saves in the loss.
- The Greyhounds out shot the Skyhawks 13-6 in the first half, and 6-3 in the second half.
