THE BASICS:
- Scores: New Haven 10, Assumption 3 (Game One), New Haven, 9 Assumption 1 (Game Two)

- Location: North Smithfield, R.I.
- The Lead: The Hounds dropped two games to New Haven by scores of 10-3 and 9-1 in a cross divisional match up on Saturday afternoon in a doubleheader played on the campus of Bryant University.
HOW IT HAPPNED: GAME ONE:
- The New Haven offense got on the board first to take the lead 1-0 when Tori Schiebe doubled to score Taylor Luzzi.
- The Hounds answered back in the bottom of the first to tie the game 1-1. Senior Ashley Clark (Pawtucket, R.I. / William E. Tolman) singled to open the inning while Caitlin Mirabell (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) doubled to send her home.
- In the second and third inning the Chargers came alive with eight runs to take a 9-1 lead. Julie Devlin, Catherine Vaughn and Gabby DeLeo each tallied two runs, while Devlin added a triple.
- In the bottom of the fifth Victoria Petrie (Marlborough, Mass. / Marlborough) was hit by a pitch to get on base and then later scored off a single from Mirabell.
- Each team tallied a run in the seventh inning. Vaughn doubled to drive in Sierra Whitlock for the Chargers tenth run, while Kayla Peabody (Mendon, Mass. / Nipmuc Regional High School) scored the Hounds' third run off a single from senior Cassidy Colby (Charlton, Mass/ Shepherd Hill Regional) to end the game 10-3.
GAME TWO:
- The Chargers took a quick lead in the top of the first, scoring eight times for the early 8-0 advantage. Samantha Errera and Whitlock each tallied two RBI, while Vaugh hit a three run homerun.
- In the top of the fifth inning, New Haven scored their ninth and final run when DeLeo scored off a double from Vaughn.
- The Hounds tallied their only run in the bottom of the fifth inning when senior Ashley Abad (Bedford, N.H. / Bedford) hit a triple to drive in Mirabell who singled earlier in the inning to end the game 9-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- In game one, junior pitcher Kendal Roy (Grafton, Mass./Grafton) pitched three innings while registering one walk and one strikeout while senior Jurnee Serating-Ware (Hudson, Mass./Hudson) pitched the remainder of the contest earning three strikeouts. Mirabell led the Hound offense with three hits and two RBI.
- In game two, Ware relived Courtney Oliva (Vernon, Conn./ Rockville) in the second inning with one out and was effective through 3.2 innings, only surrendering one earned run on four hits, striking out four batters. Abad led the offense with a double, triple, and an RBI while Mirabell and Nicole Duplease (Leominster, Mass. / Leominster) tallied two hits.
