HOW IT HAPPENED:

GAME ONE:

-  Stonehill jumped out to an early lead in the first inning. With runners in scoring position, Sophie Perez doubled to center field to drive in two runs.

- The Skyhawks added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning as Michelle Theilgard homered with Carly Rennie on base, and then Perez tallied a run as she was driven in on a double from Erin Brayden

In the top of the seventh, the Hounds tallied their first and only run in the contest as Ally Hinojosa (Revere, Mass./Revere) stole home on wild pitch but Stonehill got the more three outs to end the game 5-1.

GAME TWO:

- The only run scored was in the top of the second as Menard hit a solo home run to center field. Assumption also threatened in the top of the sixth but stranded a runner on third with two outs.

- Stonehill, put a runner on second in the third, fourth and fifth innings and had a runner thrown out home in sixth. In the bottom of the seventh, Maille Bennett singled to right field but she did not advance as the Hounds defense retired the next three batters to split the doubleheader 1-1 with the Skyhawks.
