The Greyhounds needed to return to winning ways on the road in Springfield, and they were successful, grabbing a 24-7 win. The defense continued its stellar play this season, as they have not allowed more than 14 points to an NE10 opponent. Grabbing two wins in a row is not going to be easy, as the University of New Haven comes in undefeated in conference play with an overall record of 7-1.

Assumption is 8-7 all-time vs. the Chargers while holding a six-game winning streak between 2014-2017. Currently, Assumption is on a three-game losing streak, and last year New Haven bested the Greyhounds 16-10. Jordan McAfree was the predominant QB for the Greyhounds, completing 10 of 17 passes for 61 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Khaleed Exum-Strong led the backfield with 22 carries for 139 yards. The only touchdown on the day belonged to Vinnie DiCarlo, who also led with 32 yards on two catches. The defense held the Chargers to a decent amount, giving the offense a way back into this game, but New Haven hung on for the win.

2021 was an unforgettable season for the Chargers. They finished 10-2 overall and 8-0 in the conference, securing the Northeast-10 Conference Title. The Chargers defeated the Falcons 31-14 to secure that championship, and they defeated Bentley again in the NCAA Division II Football Championship First Round, 38-13. The magical season ended against Kutztown in the following round, losing 10-7.
