PREVIEW: Softball gears up to face Saint Anselm in the NE10 Semifinals

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University softball team will be the second seed in the Northeast-10 Championship. The Greyhounds will travel to Garden City, New York, to take on Saint Anselm College in the NE10 Semifinals on Friday, May 3rd, at 2:30 p.m. at Janet L. Ficke Softball Field.
 
NE10 TOURNAMENT CENTRAL
 
Assumption won both games this year, taking game one 17-5 in five innings before winning 13-6 in the nightcap. Kaitlyn Cahill went 6-for-6 at the plate with a double, a home run, five runs, four RBI, and four stolen bases in the two games.

They reached the College World Series, defeating West Chester (3-2) before falling to West Texas A&M (9-3) and North Georgia (1-0). 
  • 2022: The Hawks defeated Assumption (5-4) in the NE10 Semifinal before falling to Adelphi (2-0, 11 Innings) in the Championship. In the NCAA Tournament, the Hawks fell to Caldwell (8-7) and Adelphi (2-1).
  • 2023: Defeated SNHU (2-1) before falling to Adelphi 1-0 in the NE10 Semifinals
