MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Assumption University men's ice hockey team was well represented on the Northeast-10 Conference men's ice hockey all-conference lists as the Greyhounds earned four awards, announced Wednesday afternoon.
Reigning NE10 Player of the Year,
Ronny Paragallo was the lone Greyhound named to the All-NE10 First Team. Paragallo leads the conference in assists (22) and faceoff wins (404) while leading the team in points and faceoff winning percentage (.590).
Jonathan Surrette and
John Woernle found their way onto the All-NE10 Second Team. Surrette lead the team in blocked shots (39), while ranking second on the team in assists (18), points (26), and third in goals (8). Woernle led the Assumption defense with 16 assists and 19 points, while his three goals ranked him second.
After a stellar freshman campaign,
Shane McElhaney found his way onto the All-Rookie team, recording three goals, nine assists, and 12 points in 25 games. He picked up one NE10 Rookie of the Week honor, scoring his first collegiate game-winning goal and scoring 1:25 into overtime against UMass Dartmouth.
The No. 4 seeded Greyhounds fell to top-seeded Saint Anselm College in the NE10 Semifinals, 3-2 in overtime.
