WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's lacrosse team broke into the top 20 of the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) coaches poll on Monday afternoon.

The Greyhounds (7-2, 2-1 NE10) enter the top 20 after winning their last two games against Southern New Hampshire (11-6) and American International College (24-12). The Hounds are ranked in the top 25 in scoring defense (4
th – 6.78), scoring margin (7
th – 7.00), faceoff winning percentage (8
th - .639), winning percentage (10
th -.778), turnovers per game (13
th – 16.22), scoring offense (17
th – 13.78), man-down defense (21
st - .733), caused turnovers per game (23
rd – 10.89), and points per game (23
rd – 21.22).
Sophomore
Boomer Staunton leads the Greyhounds offensively with 33 goals, while
Patrik McGrath supplies a balanced attack with 24 goals and 24 assists for 48 points.
Ben McHugh (18),
Max Lowenberg (12), and
Patrick Johnston (12) all add secondary scoring.
Defensively, the trio of
Trent Sargent,
Declan Turner, and
Kevin Chrabascz combine for 44 caused turnovers and 61 ground balls, while
Shane Corcoran has been one of the best netminders in the country once again. In nine games, he supports a 7.73 goals-against average and a 0.645 save percentage, and his 98 saves rank him first in the Northeast 10 Conference.
