Men's Lacrosse moves up to No. 17 in USILA National Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's lacrosse team moved up two spots in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) coaches poll on Monday afternoon. 

USILA Week 9 Poll

The Greyhounds (9-3, 4-2 NE10) moved up two spots after going 2-0 last week with wins over Franklin Pierce and No. 20 Saint Michael's. The Hounds are ranked in the top 25 in scoring margin (8th – 6.83), scoring offense (9th – 15.58), clearing percentage (10th - .898), points per game (10th – 24.17), caused turnovers per game (11th – 11.75), points (11th – 290), assists (15th – 103), ground balls (17th – 423),  scoring defense (18th– 8.75), assists per game (19th – 8.58), saves (19th – 152), shot percentage (19th - .322), and turnovers per game (20th – 17.33). 

Sophomore Boomer Staunton leads the Greyhounds offensively with 43 goals, while Patrik McGrath supplies a balanced attack with 31 goals and 25 assists for 56 points. Ben McHugh (27), Max Lowenberg (17), Patrick Johnston (13), Nolan Johnson (12), and Brian Shortt (11) all add secondary scoring. 

Defensively, the trio of Trent SargentDeclan Turner, and Kevin Chrabascz combine for 56 caused turnovers and 81 ground balls, while Shane Corcoran has been one of the best netminders in the country once again. In ten games, he supports an 8.61 goals-against average and a 0.609 save percentage, and his 134 saves rank him second in the Northeast 10 Conference. 

Men's Lacrosse looks to make it three-straight wins, as they take on the two-time defending national champions, Adelphi University, on Saturday, April 11th at 2:00 pm.
