Stonehill 5, Assumption 1
Worcester, Mass. -- The Assumption Baseball lost 5-1 to visiting Stonehill on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference game.
Stonehill quickly jumped out on top in the first inning, with senior third baseman Scott Hackett (Bangor, Maine/Bangor) scoring on a wild pitch. Stonehill was up 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning when a solo home run by Assumption's junior second baseman Travis Smith (Coventry, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) finally got the Greyhounds on the board.

For the Skyhawks, senior first baseman Angelo Bruno (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) had two hits. RBIs came off hits from senior second baseman Nick Nardacci (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) and sophomore center fielder James DeAlto (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y./Briarcliff). Starting pitcher Zach Soulier (Milford, Conn./Jonathan Law) pitched six strong innings, giving up only one run.
