Waltham, Mass. -- The Assumption College baseball team fell 6-2 at Bentley University on Monday afternoon at DeFelice Field in Waltham.
The Falcons were led by senior third baseman Ross Curley (Lexington, Mass./Lexington HS), who went three-for-four with two runs scored and senior right fielder Chris Hardy (Warwick, R.I./Bishop Hendricken HS) drove in two runs. Sophomore righthanded pitcher John Yohe (Merrick, N.Y./St. Dominic's HS) gave up only two earned runs, striking out five Greyhounds in a complete game.
For the Greyhounds, junior catcher Tim Quinn (Holden, Mass./Holden) scored both of Assumption's runs and finished the day with two hits in a walk in four plate appearances. Junior third baseman Travis Smith (Coventry, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) and sophomore designated hitter Nick Napoli (Medford, Mass./Boston College) each had RBIs.
Bentley improved to 11-21 overall and 5-10 in the Northeast-10, while Assumption saw its record fall to 12-24 overall and 6-11 in conference. The Greyhounds will look to bounce back on Tuesday as they head to the University of New Haven.
