Winter Park, Florida (March 2) -- Assumption dropped its season opener to Rollins on Friday night at Alfond Stadium in Winter Park, 18-0.

Junior captain Shane Keddy (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Tech) had two hits for Assumption, and Matt Consigli (Whitinsville, Mass./Northbridge) went one-for-one off the bench in the loss.

Matt Metcalf (Warwick, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) and Santi Palmer (San Juan, P.R./Colegio San Ignacio) each pitched a scoreless inning of relief out of the bullpen.

Assumption moves to 0-1 on the season, while Rollins improves to 9-4 on the season.

The Greyhounds resume play on March 3rd against Northeast-10 Conference opponent Bentley at 2:00 p.m.
