Box Score Pleasantville, N.Y. (April 22) -- The Assumption College baseball team dropped the third game of a series against Pace University, 5-3, at Finnerty Field on Sunday morning.
Michael Filice (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay CR) and Shane Keddy (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Tech) each had two hits for Assumption. Matt Consigli (Whitinsville, Mass./Northbridge) picked up a hit to extend his streak to seven games.
Pace took the first lead in the bottom of the first inning, but Assumption knotted the score up at one when freshman Kelvin Sims (Manchester, Conn./East Catholic) scored on a fielding error by the Pace right fielder.
The Setters took a 2-1 lead in the third inning, and after a couple of scoreless inning, the Greyhounds took their first lead of the morning on back-to-back runs in the sixth and seventh innings to take a 3-2 lead.
the Greyhounds put a run across on a Sims triple in the sixth inning, then took the lead on an RBI single by Keddy to drive in Consigli.
Pace tied the game at three on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth, before winning the game on a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth.
The Greyhounds fall to 11-22-1 with the loss and will return to action on Tuesday, April 24 against Franklin Pierce University. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Rocheleau Field.
