Winter Park, Fla. (March 8) -- The Assumption College baseball team dropped two games in a doubleheader with Rollins College and Stonehill College 3-1 final to Stonehill College at Alfond Stadium on Friday.

Sophomore starter Zack LaRosa (West Hartford, Conn. / Conard) was tagged with the loss in a 3-1 loss to Stonehill despite not giving up an earned run. The right hander worked 4.2 innings allowing five hits and three runs, all unearned, to pick up his second loss of the season.

The Skyhawks picked up all three runs in the fifth inning after a two-out throwing error by the Greyhounds.

Assumption picked up its lone run in the eighth inning on a single by Bret Clark (Bristol, Conn. / Bristol Central).

In the second game the Greyhounds fell to Rollins College 9-3. Bill King (Worcester, Mass. / Holy Name) took the loss for Assumption, allowing four runs over 6.1 innings of work.

Assumption jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a two-run homerun by Billy Johnson (Auburn, Mass. / Holy Name). After allowing two runs to tie the game, the Greyhounds jumped ahead again after senior Shane Keddy (Worcester, Mass. / Worcester Tech) scored on a wild pitch following a one-out triple.

The Tars scored the final six runs of the game for the 9-3 final. The Greyhounds fall to 2-6 with the pair of losses and will return to action on Saturday, March 9th against the University of Bridgeport. The game will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Alfond Stadium on the campus of Rollins College.
