Box Score Winter Park, Fla. (March 9) -- The Assumption College baseball team dropped a 6-3 final the University of Bridgeport on Saturday to fall to 2-7 on the season.
Senior All-American candidate Shane Keddy (Worcester, Mass. / Worcester Tech) went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored as the only Greyhound to record a multi-hit game.
Senior Dan Bradley (Moodus, Conn. / Nathan Hale Ray) had an effective day out of the bullpen for the Greyhounds, pitching 4.2 innings of one-run ball, while scattering six hits. Fellow senior Cody Rocha (Fall River, Mass. / B.M.C. Durfee) also had his second-consecutive effective performance, working two innings of one-hit ball to end the game.
The Greyhounds fell behind 6-0 after the top of the fourth, but got two runs back on a two-run homerun by Keddy in the bottom of the fifth. Assumption would get one more run back in the bottom of the ninth for the final margin.
Assumption returns to action on Sunday, March 10th against Northeast-10 Conference rival Bentley University. The game will begin at noon at Alfond Stadium in Winter Park, Fla.
