Box Score Garden City, N.Y. (April 14) -- The Assumption College baseball team dropped a 6-4 final to Adelphi University at Bonomo Field on Sunday in a game that featured no scoring after the fifth inning. With the loss, the Greyhounds dropped two-of-three in the series over the weekend to fall to 10-21 overall and 5-3 in the Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division while Adelphi improves to 17-15-1 overall and 6-3 in the division.

Sophomore Zack LaRosa (West Hartford, Conn. / Conard) took the loss for Assumption, working five innings while allowing 10 hits and six runs (five earned), while striking out two batters. Jimmy Milani earned the victory for the Panthers, scattering eight hits over five innings while allowing four runs.
After falling behind in the early part of the game, the Greyhounds responded with a three-run fifth inning to take a brief 4-3 lead.
Junior Bret Clark (Bristol, Conn. / Bristol Central) started the inning with a single and stole second base. Senior Shane Keddy (Worcester, Mass. / Worcester Tech) drove Clark in with an RBI single to right field to cut the Panther lead to one, 3-2.
Senior Travis Smith (Coventry, R.I. / Bishop Hendricken) doubled to put runners on second and third, and the next batter, Billy Johnson (Auburn, Mass. / Holy Name) gave the Greyhounds the lead with a two-RBI single to right.
The Panthers responded with three runs of their own in the bottom of the frame to take the final 6-4 lead.
Junior Cody Rocha (Fall River, Mass. / BMC Durfee) worked three innings of one-hit ball out of the bullpen. The junior struck out three while not allowing a run.
Each of the top three players in the Greyhound order, Keddy, Smith, and Johnson, collected two hits and at least one RBI. Clark also had a multi-hit game and came around to score twice for Assumption.
The Greyhounds return to action on Tuesday, April 16th as the team will play host to American International College in divisional action. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Rocheleau Field in Worcester, Mass.
