In the first game, the Greyhounds jumped on starter Pace starter Michael Tamburino for five runs over the first two innings.
Trailing 1-0 after half an inning, the Greyhounds capitalized on three singles in the first inning after Keddy led off the frame with a single to score two runs. Keddy came around to score on one of the errors and senior Nick Napoli (Medford, Mass. / Boston College) drove in the other run with a sacrifice fly, giving Assumption a 2-1 lead.

Clark scored on a wild pitch and after a fly out, sophomore Billy Johnson (Auburn, Mass. / Holy Name) drove in the final run of the inning on a single into left-center field.
The Setters chipped away with two runs in the fifth and a run in the seventh inning, cutting
the lead to one, 5-4, but Assumption added an insurance run in the eighth as senior Travis Smith (Coventry, R.I. / Bishop Hendricken) came around to score on a passed ball after getting hit by a pitch earlier in the inning. Pace wouldn't get any closer as the Assumption bullpen worked two innings of shutout baseball to pick up the win.
