- The Lead: Pace jumped to an early lead and kept the momentum through the beginning of the second set before the Hounds were able to string together a lead. Assumption was unable to gain the lead and fell 3-0 to Pace.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the first set, both teams traded points until the Setters scored ten unanswered points to take a 13-4 lead. Pace scored another seven straight points for a 15-point lead (20-5). The Hounds were unable to break the Setters momentum and dropped the first set 25-8.
- The Setters continued their momentum into the second set when they took a 9-2 lead. The Hounds were able to string together three points to lessen Pace's lead to four (11-7) before the Setters answered with four straight points to extend their lead to eight (16-8). Assumption then forced the Setters into a timeout after rallying for five consecutive points to get within three (17-14) and then scored three-straight to cut the Setters' lead to one (18-17). The Setters rallied and scored seven of the set's last eight points to take the set 25-18.
- The third set was much like the first with both teams trading points before Pace strung together seven points for a 13-5 lead. The Hounds were unable to put together more than two points at a time and the Setters ended the set with five consecutive points to take a 24-12 lead before finishing the set 25-14 and took the match 3-0.
