WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption Baseball program is pleased to announce the third annual Ari Schultz Day, which will be held Monday, April 22 when the Hounds host Saint Anselm in a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.

The Hounds will dedicate the day's doubleheader to Schultz, who passed away after receiving a heart transplant in July of 2017. Schultz was signed by the team in 2017 through team IMPACT, a nonprofit based in Boston which matches children with life-threatening and chronic illnesses to college athletic teams. To date, Team IMPACT has matched over 1,100 children to more than 450 colleges and universities nationwide.

The baseball team will be selling wrist bands and accepting donations on the day of the game to help raise money for Team IMPACT and the Ethan Lindberg Foundation.

"As a program we are very excited to continue to honor and remember Ari Schultz," said Head Baseball Coach Mike Rocco. "In a short time that we were teammates, he and his family had a profound impact on everyone in the Assumption program and community. This Monday is our small way of carrying on Ari's legacy."
