WORCESTER, Mass. - The first NCAA Regional field hockey rankings have been released, and No. 6 nationally ranked Assumption University is one of five Northeast-10 teams under consideration in the East Region. Assumption recently defeated Molloy College in a 2-0 victory on Saturday, Oct. 29.
RANKINGS
In addition to Assumption (11-3 overall, 8-1 NE10), the other NE10 schools include Adelphi (8-7, 7-3 NE10), Bentley (8-6, 6-3 NE10), New Haven (8-7, 8-2 NE10), and Saint Anselm (9-5, 8-2 NE10). New this year for NCAA Division II sports with regional rankings; schools will be listed as under consideration in alphabetical order for the season's first ranking.
Assumption will host Southern New Hampshire on Wednesday, November 2, at 7:00 pm. The Greyhounds head into Wednesday's contest holding on to the top spot of the NE10.
The Division II Field Hockey Championship provides for a maximum field of six teams. Two first-round games will be conducted on the campus of one of the competing institutions. The top seed in each selection region will receive a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
The NCAA DII Field Hockey selection show will air on NCAA.com on Monday, November 21, at 3 p.m. (EST).
