WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption University football team saw two student-athletes take home Northeast 10 Conference Athletes of the Week honors following a 30-8 win over Saint Anselm, as announced on Monday afternoon.
Football Defensive Player of the Week
Tindell Frick, Assumption
Senior | Defensive End | Duxbury, Mass.
Frick was dominant in Assumption's 30-8 win over Saint Anselm on Friday evening. The senior defensive end from Duxbury, Mass., set new career-highs with 13 total tackles (4 solo), 2.5 sacks for 17 yards, one forced fumble, three quarterback hurries, one pass breakup, and one blocked kick. Frick now leads the conference with 4.0 sacks. As a defense, the Hounds allowed zero points, while also adding six sacks, eight tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, two blocked kicks, five pass breakups, and 12 quarterback hurries.
Football Rookie of the Week
Alexis Ruiz Ortiz, Assumption
Freshman | Right Tackle | Killingly, Conn.
Ruiz Ortiz headlines an offensive line that allowed just two sacks and just four quarterback hurries. Assumption ran for 130 yards and three touchdowns, including two in the fourth quarter, to secure the 30-8 win against Saint Anselm.
