Justina Valentini was named the New England Women's Hockey Alliance Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

The junior defender continued her outstanding two-way play this weekend to help the Greyhounds to their weekend series sweep of Saint Anselm. In Friday's home contest, she recorded two assists in a 5-3 win. She added another assist in Saturday's 4-2 road victory, playing a key role on both ends of the ice. Across the weekend, the Minnetonka, Minn. native posted a total of three points in two games. She added two shots on goal and one block. Her two-way dominance contributed to the Greyhounds conference success this weekend, positioning them in second in the NEWHA standings.
