Men's Lacrosse moves up to No. 16 in USILA Coaches Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's lacrosse team moved up to No. 16 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) coaches poll on Monday afternoon.

The Greyhounds (10-4, 5-3 NE10) moved up two spots after defeating No. 20 Bentley University, 12-11 in overtime. The Hounds are ranked in the top 25 in scoring offense (14th – 14.64), clearing percentage (14th – 0.892), turnovers per game (17th – 17.07), saves (18th – 186), points (19th – 316), points per game (19th - 22.67), scoring margin (19th – 5.00), caused turnovers per game (19th – 11.00), saves per game (22nd – 13.29), man-down defense (23rd – 0.732), and assists (24th – 111). 

Sophomore Boomer Staunton leads the Greyhounds offensively with a program record 50 goals, while Patrik McGrath supplies a balanced attack with 33 goals and 26 assists for 57 points. Ben McHugh (32), Max Lowenberg (17), Patrick Johnston (13), Nolan Johnson (12), and Brian Shortt (12) all add secondary scoring. 

Defensively, the trio of Trent SargentDeclan Turner, and Kevin Chrabascz combine for 62 caused turnovers and 89 ground balls, while Shane Corcoran has been one of the best netminders in the country once again. In 14 games, he has a 9.66 goals-against average and a 0.592 save percentage, and his 168 saves rank him second in the Northeast 10 Conference. 

Men's Lacrosse will host a first-round Northeast 10 Tournament game for the second time in program history, as they will take on Saint Michael's College on Saturday, April 25th.
