Allison (Reyell) Murphy `05 is one of the top women’s soccer players in Assumption history, earning First Team All-American honors in 2005 and being named as a three-time Northeast-10 All-Conference selection. As a senior, she earned both the Desautels Award and the Laska Award, along with serving as a team captain in both her junior and senior years. She was the 2004 Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year, an Academic All-Region selection and a two-time All-New England honoree, as well as the 2002 Team MVP. Academically, she was a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-Region selection, a member of the Dean’s List each semester and went on to earn an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. She was also active in the community during her Assumption career, serving in three different capacities within the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). From 2002-2005, she moved secretary to vice-president to president of SAAC, where she helped organize a $4,000 fundraising campaign for Make-A-Wish. She also initiated the “Kids on Campus Day” and helped organize and fundraise for the “Coats for Kids” project.
Upon graduating from Assumption, Murphy earned her Master of Education degree in education studies from Springfield College in 2007 and served as an elementary school and middle school teacher beginning in 2005.
Murphy currently resides in Holden, Mass., with her husband, Ryan `03, and their three children, Owen, Declan and Jack.
