Hall of Fame
As a player, Keith Hughes ’94 was a dynamic force for the Greyhounds from 1990 to 1994. He finished his collegiate career with 121 points, ranking 17th all-time in program history, and was one of only ten players ever to record a 50-point season, scoring 24 goals and adding 27 assists in his standout 1993–94 campaign. That year, the team posted a 19–8 record and captured the ECAC North title with a dominant 12–2 conference mark. Hughes' leadership and offensive prowess helped assemble the program’s best four-year stretch ever, highlighted by three consecutive seasons with 19 or more wins, with him at the center of the action.
Hughes returns to Assumption’s Hall of Fame as a coach, having previously been a standout player. From 1998 to 2005, Hughes served as head coach of the men’s ice hockey team, leading the Greyhounds to 60 victories over seven seasons. He revitalized the program, leading to multiple winning seasons, and was named the Northeast 10 Conference (NE10) Coach of the Year in 2004.
