Jeff Scott `74 was a four-year member of the men’s basketball program and was a team captain as a senior. He finished his career with 1,229 points, ranking among the school’s all-time leading scorers. Over his four years, he averaged 11.5 points per game while also finishing his Assumption career with 464 field goals made, 676 free throws, 696 rebounds, 146 assists and 166 steals.
Upon graduation, Scott was invited to play professionally in Caracas, Venezuela, where he enjoyed a four-month playing stint and the opportunity to visit another country. Following his time playing basketball, he returned home and worked as a Recreational Director of Boys Activities at the JP Kennedy Center in Harlem, where he had the opportunity to be involved in the lives of young men seeking both guidance and recreation. Following that, he pursued a position with State Farm Insurance as a Property/Casualty Claims Adjustor and later went on to own his own business as Owner/Operator of Shadan Trucking, which involved shipping wine and liquor in the Metropolitan New York area.
Jeff currently resides in Bay Shore, N.Y. with his wife, Sandra. The couple has five children, Shanta, Danielle, Jamaal, John Jr. and Karim.
