Ferraro had an immediate impact upon his arrival at Assumption. He scored 18 goals in his freshman campaign and provided 19 assists for 37 points, an incredible achievement in his rookie season. That same year he was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Week and the Wesleyan Spurrier Tournament Most Valuable Player. In his sophomore season, he was named to the Northeast-10 Invitational All-Tournament Team; he scored 22 goals along with nine assists for 31 points. In the 1990-91 campaign, Ferraro provided 22 assists for his team while also recording ten goals for 32 points. He was featured in the Boston Globe following a big playoff win vs. Curry College. Ferraro was known for scoring "big goals in big games at big times."
 
In his fourth and final season as a Greyhound, he was appointed co-captain by Coach Bill Bowes. He scored 22 goals and 22 assists in his final season for a remarkable 44 points. Ferraro was top three on the team in goals and assists in three out of his four seasons at Assumption. He is fourth in career goals scored in Assumption history (72) and ninth in career points (144).
